About This Spot

Nestled quietly along a tucked-away stretch of Reo Drive, 6 Grados Coffee invites you into an intimate, thoughtfully crafted space that feels both familiar and a little bit special. The pace here slows down just enough to notice the small details — the soft hum of conversation, the gentle hiss of espresso machines, and the subtle aroma of freshly baked pastries mingling with rich, complex brews. It’s a place where the everyday moment of grabbing coffee evolves into a comforting ritual.

The atmosphere carries a warm, relaxed energy that’s neither rushed nor noisy. Visitors find themselves settled into thoughtful pauses, whether they’re catching up with friends, savoring a quiet moment alone, or simply wandering in off the street in search of a well-crafted cup. This is a neighborhood refuge with soul, where friendly familiarity meets unexpected discoveries grounded in unique flavor combinations and nods to cultural heritage.

The menu offers more than your classic morning pick-me-up; it’s a subtly adventurous exploration of coffee and pastries that reflects both tradition and innovation. Imagine a cold latte brightened by strawberry syrup and delicate espresso foam, or a rich Oaxacan coffee serving as a slow bridge to something gently exotic. The baked goods, while thoughtfully curated with a daily variety, complement the drinks beautifully — fresh carrot cake with glazed walnuts, nutella croissants that melt effortlessly, or soft cookies dotted with chocolate and dried cherries. Each visit promises little delights that make every sip and bite feel intentional, inviting you to pause and savor the moment.

Behind the counter, the staff offer more than service — they offer a quietly kind hospitality that welcomes newcomers and regulars alike to feel at home. It’s clear this is a place built on community and passion for craft rather than trend, making it a true gem for those who cherish coffee shops as much for the people as for the pours.

For those willing to take the slightly off-the-beaten-path route here, 6 Grados Coffee quietly rewards with a space to slow down and reconnect — with flavor, with others, and with a simple, grounded sense of pleasure.

Very cozy little coffee shop on Reo Drive with unique offerings and superb classics. I got the Brown Berry which is fall seasonal menu item consisting of a cold latte with strawberry syrup and espresso cold foam, and I paired it with a double chocolate chip cookie with chocolate covered espresso beans and dried cherries. Parking can be a puzzle as you have to drive through an alley, but once parked with latte in hand, you'll be relaxed

Might be the best coffee shop in San Diego. Off the beaten path but SO worth it. We got 3 different baked goods, 2 coffees, and 2 drinks for the kiddos and we all loved it. Aesthetic was relaxing and felt like home. Customer service was patient and helpful for our first visit. Wife and I love trying new coffee shops but it will be hard to bring ourselves to go anywhere else after the enjoyable experience we had at 6 Grados Coffee. Check it out and you won’t regret it! Also wife forgot her phone and they made sure to safely hold onto it until we returned (picture they took on her phone)

Love this coffee shop. Has so many unique flavors with Mexican roots. The Oaxacan coffee and crema de olla and pastries are really good. You can’t miss this stop for locally owned coffee shop! Supporting local and it doesn’t disappoint! Highly recommend!

I will call Exotic Cafe... Very crafty coffee options. Pastry is limited and varies every day, but it's amazingly Delicious and Delightful. This one, in particular, is a carrot cake with small chuncks of pineapple, super mostly topped with glazed walnuts. "Black Orchid Latte" is Exquisite! Enjoy! Support Local!!!!

I finally made it out here! Been meaning to give it a try. Wonderful sweets baked there! The cookie was so outrageously yummy. Yummy yummy!!! We enjoyed the thick slice of pineapple carrot cake. It was filled with wholesome amazing flavor. Better than any other recipe I've ever tasted, and not overbearing sweet like most carrots cakes. They had these yummy white powdered cookies that resembled a thick macaron and filled with a sweet dulce spread in-between. That was so good. I've switched to loving these over macrons. Awesome Cafe de Olla. Really cute place. A hidden gem. My new go to spot!!

Tried the hot chocolate with almond milk, the arroz con leche hot latte, and the Oaxaca moka iced sixteen ounce latte. All hot lattes are 16 ounces. Out of these three drinks, even though they were very different, the Oaxaca latte was my favorite. It had just the right amount of sweetener, was well balanced, and you can taste the espresso, so I would give it a four out of five stars. We did not really care for the hot chocolate since it tasted more like vanilla. The arroz con leche latte had a very light flavor. Their pastries looked very tasty but we did not try any during this visit. The place is small but very homey and cozy, and it makes for excellent photos since it is beautifully and uniquely decorated. Lots of interesting art pieces. They also have stickers and other merchandise for sale. Overall it has nice warm vibes and I would probably come back to try the rest of their iced lattes. The prices are fair and the customer service was very good. Also Google Maps will take you to the side of the location which is in front of the main street. You have to walk to the left and the coffee shop is tucked away in a corner next to a Mexican food restaurant.

I recently visited from New York and had the opportunity to experience this locally owned coffee establishment that is, without exaggeration, exceptional. Having spent time in Mexico, including multiple visits to Mexico City, I can assert that this shop distinguishes itself through both creativity and execution. The barista demonstrates notable skill in crafting a range of specialty beverages, including the Crema de Olla, a latte infused with traditional Mexican cinnamon, and the Calabaza Pumpkin Latte, which combines pumpkin spices with blended yam ! Both beverages were unique, flavorful, and clearly reflect a thoughtful approach to menu development & ingredients . The gentleman at the register ensures operational flow remains efficient, even during peak Sunday traffic. Pricing ranges from $6 to $7 per 16-ounce serving, which is commensurate with portion size and quality. The shop’s menu is highly inventive, warranting consideration beyond typical tourist locations. it almost feels like you're walking into someone's side apartment. The decorations are so unique that you can spend half an hour just looking at all the pictures and all the interpretations of different items on the walls and on the shelves it's really something so quirky that I've never really seen something like this. My sole regret is discovering it on my final day; had I known sooner, I would have visited daily.
